I just ordered two class 10 microSD cards in hopes that it would solve my "please check the SD card" errors.

I just updated mine. A couple things I noticed after the update:
1. All the settings reverted to defaults. Maybe this is because I used a blank SD card to do the upgrade that didn't have a settings file on it.
2. After doing the upgrade, I went for a short drive. When I returned to work and shut the car off, the Blackvue took over a minute to shut down. I don't know if this is a consequence of the new firmware, maybe some post-upgrade cleanup being performed, or due to the fact that the settings were at the defaults so it was temporarily going into parking mode, I don't know. I just applied my settings changes to the SD card and will put it back in when I leave work this afternoon.

Mech33,
I've done about 2000+ insertions so far as I tweaked this camera to my liking and so far the only time I got that error 'please insert SD issue' was when I tried adding the tape to aid taking it out. After I removed it everything went back to normal. I did do additional tweak to the housing the SD card goes into and though it wasn't necessary I think it helps regardless. I essentially compressed the outer metal housing that is over the internal male contact pins that aligns with the SD card contacts. The idea is to have said pins make good contact to the SD by making the housing push the SD more downward onto them.
Kpatz,
Yes the settings that you adjusted when you had 1.038E was erased since the new firmware adds a default 'un-tweaked' config.ini. It is this file that stores all the adjustments made by the BlackvueHD program, so you could have technically saved that file and re-add it to the SD after the new firmware completed its prep which would have reloaded all the settings you had before.
What I do is after the firmware gets written to the SD I immediately use the BlackvueHD program to readjust my settings again prior to inserting the SD to update the firmware, essentially saving me the step of re-adjusting after the firmware update is completed.

Just a heads up, if you are changing firmware, make sure to also change your settings as everything will be reverted back to default settings.
